NARPA, the National Association for RightsProtection and Advocacy, exists to expose these everyday abuses. NARPA, an independent organization,is a unique mix of people who've survived these institutions, advocates, civil rights activists, mental healthworkers, and lawyers. NARPA exists to expose abuse, to shed light on coercive and dangerous practices,and to promote real alternatives to a mental health system that even professionals agree is a disgrace.
